I disagree with the review here- I really enjoyed this series. I thought it was a breath of fresh air with all the junk coming out lately.
The first four episodes only really introduce the characters and the general backdrop- it’s more like a series of story arcs and much more complicated than it is being described.
I think the reason fans are more attached to the characters is they have read the manga- the manga really focuses on the characters more than the show does and Kamantani’s evolves beautifully throughout the series.

So you think we should give it another chance? I already own the first part of season 1, so I guess I COULD watch it…though unless the main character is anything other than what my cohosts described him as, I will probably not like it. A show without strong characters generally does not hold my interest :(. Also, if you have to read the manga to enjoy the anime, don’t you think the creators missed some great potential there?
